As Catholics, we believe that Jesus "is truly present" in the
Most Precious Body and Blood of Christ.
The bread and wine become the" body, blood, soul and divinity of Jesus"
and should be treated with the utmost respect and reverence.
Please do not walk away with Jesus (consecrated Host) in your hand, after receiving but consume immediately in front of the minister. If you do not feel disposed to receive,
or are not of the Catholic faith, please simply cross your arms over your chest which
is the sign for a blessing from the Priest, Deacon or Extraordinary Minister.
Reverence the cup containing the Precious Blood (consecrated wine)
with an bow of the head, as that is an appropriate sign of respect,
even if you are passing by, as you are acknowleging Jesus is present.
Low-Gluten Hosts
We have low-gluten hosts available at all our Masses
for those who require it. Our Parish uses the host with the lowest gluten currently available with .002 % (< 20ppm) gluten.
Low- Gluten Procedure at Mass
To receive a low gluten host at any of our Masses,
please just request a low gluten host from the Priest, Deacon
or Extraordinary Minister as you approach the altar for Communion.
A separate , clearly labeled low-gluten ciborium is brought to the altar
for all Masses and anyone wishing to receive a low gluten host
will take one directly from the vessel, to eliminate possible
cross-contamination from those Clergy or Minsters
who have been handling other traditional hosts that have gluten in them.
The Priest, Deacon or Extraordinary MInister of Holy Communion will hold out the vessel to you, saying "The Body of Christ", then you will reply "Amen" and take one consecrated low-gluten host of out of the
vessel presented to you.

to you periodically.
