Our Lady of The Angels Parish is collecting Grocery gift cards to help parishioners in need during the month of November and in particular, for Thanksgiving. You can donate your local grocery gift cards in any weekend collection basket, by mail or by bringing it to the Parish Office Monday through Friday between 10AM to 4PM. If you decide to donate by cash or check, please make out checks to “Our Lady of the Angels Parish” and mark the memo line of your check with “Thanksgiving Grocery Card Drive." Helping our neighbors in need is what is it all about! We are thankful for your generosity!

You are invited to attend a "Holy Hour for Life” with Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and readings from Sacred Scripture on Wednesday, January 31st, at 7 PM, at Saint Mary’s Church. Michelle Upton, a medical social worker and member of the South Shore Hospital’s Palliative Care Team, will speak on how her work has influenced her faith journey, with emphasis on the gifts of Palliative Care and Hospice in the promotion of the dignity of human life. Deacon Rick Ashburn, who is a physician member of the Palliative Care Team, will preside. Practical information about palliative care and hospice and the benefits they provide to those with serious illness and to their families will be provided. All are welcome!

We will be holding a Training session for new or returning Eucharistic Ministers on Tuesday, June 13th from 10-11 am at St. Mary's Church. Please RSVP to Patty Cockey at [email protected] or call (781) 826-4303.

Our Lady of the Angels Parish will be hosting a “Protecting God’s Children Seminar” on Monday, June 19th from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Parish Center. The Boston Archdiocese requires that all Parish Volunteers (over 18 yrs of age) take this course once, in order to be trained to detect and prevent possible child abuse. If you cannot make this session there are literally dozens of other dates, times and locations in the Boston Archdiocese we can help find something that works for you. On Tuesday, May 23rd we will host a meeting at St. Mary’s Church, for current Extraordinary Ministers to come together so we can update you on changes within the ministry. This event is for also for those who would like more information about becoming trained as a new Extraordinary Minister. We will have both a 9:45AM morning session and a 6:30 PM evening session. that expect to run a little over 1 hour. Faith in Action. It all starts with YOU! Once a year, Catholics throughout the Archdiocese are asked to partner with one another to support their parish and the many outreach ministries by contributing to the Catholic Appeal. Altar Server Training will continue for those interested in serving at Mass in Grades 3 to 12. Deacon John Murray will lead the final fall training session on Thursday, November 3 at St. Mary's Church from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. If you missed the September training sessions, but still want to be trained, please reach out to Deacon John. This weekend on Aug 6th and 7th, after all Masses,  Mercy Sews will have available to purchase and donate t-shirts to clothe the Pygmy children in Bishop Dennis’ diocese in Berberati, Central African Republic. These children are some of the poorest in the world. T-shirts will be $5 ( which covers the cost of the t-shirt plus shipping). Please join us on Monday, August 1st for our Annual Outdoor Mass at Cardinal Cushing Portiuncula Chapel at 6:30 PM with Music provided by St. Mary's, St. Helen's, St. Thecla's Music Ministry. Prior to Mass please consider attending Eucharistic Adoration at 3:00pm., Rosary & Reconciliation from 3:30 to 5:30 PM. Thank you to all who helped with putting together our Kentucky Derby themed Gala this past Saturday night!! Our Committee, very generous donors, Fr. Chris and the LifeTeen Band for lively music, and of course all of you who were able to make it a true celebration. Thank you !!!

This Friday, March 25th will be our final evening of this 3 part "Gospel of Life- What Does that Really Mean?" series. All are welcome to attend this program from 6 - 7:30 p.m. at St. Mary's Parish Hall. (This seminar will be available via Zoom as well.) A Holy Hour for Life in St. Mary's Church at 8:00 p.m. on March 25th will conclude this Lenten series.

Come Join us for an Evening of Dinner, Dancing, Music and Fellowship for an Evening with Bishop Dennis on Wednesday, September 8, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Join fellow St. Mary’s – St. Helen’s – St. Thecla’s parishioners for a dinner and socializing with Bishop Dennis at St. Mary's Parish Center. Entertainment will be provided by the Life Teen SMASH Band. Tickets are $50 each which includes dinner, music, dancing and great company! Additional donations to benefit Bishop Dennis' Diocese in Berberati in the Central African Republic are greatly appreciated! The Catholic Appeal supports the 280 parishes in the Archdiocese of Boston. Your help is needed more than ever as budgets have been stretched this year due to the pandemic. Since we are not doing the usual envelopes this year, donations can be left in the Offertory basket at Sunday Mass (checks should be made payable to Catholic Appeal) or go to bostoncatholicappeal.org and follow the directions under the “Donate” tab.
