We will have a morning and evening meeting to share updates with Ministers to the Sick & Homebound on Monday, October 16 at 9:45 a.m. or at 6:30 p.m. in St. Mary’s Hospitality Area. On Monday, October 23rd at 12 p.m. in the St. Mary’s Lifehouse (lower church) we are hosting a luncheon for those who knit and crochet for the Prayer Shawl Ministry. This will allow us to introduce Karen Kay as the new Prayer Shawl Ministry Leader, put names to faces and thank all of you who have created lap blankets and shawls for those in our parish who need a warm embrace and sense of community. Thank you to all who helped make Fill-the-Barrel a great success! Parishioners purchased and donated 970 tee-shirts for the Pygmy children in Bishop Dennis' diocese. These gifts of mercy will be leaving for Africa after Labor Day along with Mercy Sews handmade girls dresses, blankets, dolls and rosary beads. We are seeking compassionate, dependable people of faith to participate in Jesus’ healing ministry by bringing Holy Communion to the sick, homebound and those residing in nursing facilities or assisted living settings in Hanover, Norwell and Pembroke. Training is required ( 90-minutes each session) and will be provided at Saint Mary’s Parish Center. Once trained, the time commitment will depend on whether your schedule allows for weekly (30 minutes), bimonthly (60 minutes), or monthly (90 minutes at facility) visits. Training is required and will continue on Monday, October 3rd .Participants may attend either the morning or evening session or a combination of both.
